Did you miss out on the latest small-batch for this cult bike? Now's your chance to get one!
Selling my Elephant National Forest Explorer low-trail, fat(ish) tire touring bike. If you're looking for some build inspiration, check out my Readers Ride post from last year: https://theradavist.com/elephant-bikes-nfe-review/
There are a couple small blemishes to the paint that I tried to capture in the photos. There's a tiny bit of framebag lace rub marks on the top tube, some peeling of the downtube decal, and a nick on the driveside chainstay from a dropped chain. Overall this frameset is in excellent condition. To clear the Paul Klamper disc brake rotor on the front, I had to remove a little bit of the disc brake tab with a dremel. I conferred with John and Glen from Elephant when I did this and they assured me it was safe (Glen made the tab a bit smaller on the current generation to avoid this issue); I covered it with some clear nail polish. I am the original owner and treated the inside of the frame with a coat of framesaver when I got it in 2021.
Includes:
-Custom bronze Jen Green Oakland A's themed headbadge, with Stomper the Elephant atop a bike wheel!
-White Industries purple headset
-Original thru-axles (nice metal ones, not your typical cheap plastic bits) + seatpost clamp
-Problem solvers pulley wheel (so you can run a standard bottom-pull road derailer)
-Original derailer hanger
-Freshly cleaned + greased bolts for bottle cages/fenders
-A couple fun stickers (easy to remove with a bit of rubbing alcohol if they aren't to your taste:)
*The headset + head badge are a roughly $300 value.
